During the time of economic down turn, everything has become expensive. You cannot think of getting anything for cheap. Traveling is not an exception. Many of us want to take a break from our busy schedules and enjoy a vacation in a tourist destination. But when we think of high airfares we drop the idea of traveling to far off places. However, the growing popularity to visit tourist destinations all over the world has led to a cut throat competition among the many airlines that offer cheap flight deals. Some of the following tips discussed below will help you to save your money and book a cheap flight.
Book Tickets in Advance
If you have thought to visit a tourist destination anywhere in the world, you have to book cheap flight tickets well in advance to get the best airfare deals. Many online travel services companies offer cheap flight deals if the journey is planned in at least twenty days before.
Go for a Round Trip
Almost all airlines offer cheap airfare on round trips. So you have to plan exactly how many days you want to spend in a tourist spot. In order to get cheap flight deals you have to book your return ticket at the time of first booking.
Conduct a Research
You have to conduct a research in the internet and find out which travel services company offers cheap airfare and cheap flight deals. There are many travel sites that claim to offer cheap flight deals. It is quite obvious that you may get perplexed and get confused of which site to count on. But if you read the reviews, blogs and compare the prices and other offer packs associated with cheap flight deals you will be in a position to choose best airfare deals.
Fly in Off Season
Many airlines offer cheap flight deals in an off season. If you plan a trip to visit a particular tourist destination, you can choose to fly at an off season. This will reduce your expenditure to 30%. You will be able to book a cheap flight in such off season.
Traveling at Odd Times
Many flights slash the prices at early morning or late nights. If you are ready to travel at odd times you can get cheap airfare tickets. The regular day flights are costlier than the odd time flights. Therefore, to get best airfare you can choose to fly at an odd time cheap flight.
Avail Special Offers
Online travel services companies offer special deals on certain days. You have to be vigilant enough to find out such deals. Make a thorough search in the internet and find out which company offers cheap airfare to book a cheap flight.
There is no golden rule for finding cheap flight deals. It is pure common sense. Airlines and travel services companies offer cheap airfare when there is less demand of cheap flight tickets or we can say when travelers travel less. The tips discussed may seem to be absurd as most of them suggest you to travel in an off season or at an odd time of the day. However, if you want to save your money on traveling, you must follow them.

One of the most expensive parts to any trip is airfare and there are
things that you can do to reduce the cost of an airline ticket. You
want to first be flexible so that you can compare prices for times
that are around when you want to leave. Also when you search for an
airplane ticket can make a big difference as well. Studies have shown
that late at night and early in the morning there can be some great
deals to be found. Most people search for tickets in the middle of the
day and the prices naturally will be higher then.
With so many discount airline ticket websites out there it can get
confusing on who to use. The best way to do this is to find three of
your favorite sites and then search on them and see what the prices
are. Also in many cases you can save money when you book directly
through the airlines site itself because they in many cases will
publish low fares there. They are saving money and they want to build
up a loyalty with there customer base as well. Never buy the first
ticket you find even if it is a great deal because in most cases there
will be other sites that are offering good deals also.
Remember that finding a discount airplane ticket is not hard to do but
you need to search early enough so you can find an affordable price.
Also looking for a deal late at night or early in the morning can
prove to be a good option for you. Ticket prices change all day long
so you may need to check prices throughout the day to find the best
deal for you.

to bad insane gas prices are making cheap tickets hard to find, 2 years ago i could buy a round trip ticket from Dallas to Seoul Korea or Tokyo for 800ish bucks, now its doubled in that time
If you are willing to sacrifice your pick of airline and departure times, Priceline's Name Your Own Price will give you the best deal.
lol lukeisback likes taking red eyes
This is exactly what I do and you should to. First the cheapest airfare is always on the airlines website, you just first have to find which airline is cheapest to fly; for example, if you are flying from New York-JFK to San Francisco Delta might pop up as the cheapest deal than you would go to Delta’s website and find that it is a few bucks cheaper.
Before I get into this always remember that traveling on a Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday is always going to be the cheapest deal because these are the least traveled days of the week. Sometimes Wednesday is as well. And if you book the earliest flight for the day sometimes you get specials. I flew from Atlanta to Chicago Midway one way for $29 bucks on a Tuesday morning. I did have to leave at 6:00a but it was worth it for this price.
So how do you find the cheapest flight?
1.Go to farecast.com and fill out the information. It will show you all airfare deals and it tells whether you should by the ticket at the price shown or to wait because the cheapest fare listed will drop. This is accomplished by the website using airline analysts to evaluate when an airline will drop their prices. And I can tell you they are always right
2.Go to orbtiz.com and do the same thing just to make sure the prices are not cheaper. Also go here so you can see how crowded an aircraft is. The more crowded an aircraft the higher the fare.
3.Finally when you have found the cheapest carrier go to their website to save even more money sometimes as much as $10 dollars
Priceline is an interesting website. It can be stressful. Unlike the websites up above you know for a fact how much it is going to cost. With priceline you have to stay by the computer for a long period of time to try and bid for a good price which you more than likely will not get.
The truth is if you see a one way fare for $110-$140 bucks to wherever you are flying just buy it, because it is more than likely the best deal you will get. You hear websites such as Hotwire or Priceline giving out fares for cheaper than a hundred dollars and it is just not the case. Go to these websites and compare the price you found on another website and you will see there is no difference.
One last thing I prefer to fly on flagship carriers particularly Delta and Continental, but I can afford to take them. Low cost carriers such as Airtran, Jetblue, and Southwest a lot of the time do have better deals. Although interestingly because of the mess the airline industry is in flagship carriers are dropping their round trip prices to the same as low cost carriers. And if I have a choice to fly Delta or Southwest I am going to take Delta especially since they have some of the best customer service in the country and are starting to put TV screens on all seats for flights longer than 4 hours.
Hope this helps
Very helpful. Thank You
there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. just go here: http://cheapest-travel-ever.info/hc9y and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online… otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.
