How to Book a Cheap Flight

How to Book a Cheap Flight The holiday market has never been more competitive. BA claimed that a further 30 airlines would go bust before Christmas after XL handed in the towel in September. With airline companies fighting for your custom, now may be a good time to find some good flight deals. Here are some tips to help you get the cheapest flight possible…

- Book early. Sometimes you can get fantastic late deals from flight companies, however, the majority of the time the later you book, the more expensive your flight will be. Even a week makes a difference when the price of flights are concerned, so once you know you are going to be travelling, don’t procrastinate- book now. It could save you hundreds on flight prices.

- Fly off-peak. During school holidays, flight and holiday prices soar. If you haven’t got any children, book your flight in term time. Term time is classed as off-peak, so prices can drop dramatically during these periods. Avoid travelling around Christmas, Easter and in July and August, as flight costs will unavoidably rise, and could save you up to £300 for a fortnight’s holiday.

- Fly at unsociable times. Even though travelling in the early hours of the morning may not be the most enjoyable time to fly, it could save you money on flight costs. People tend to book flights at convenient times, for example, during the day or early evening. By choosing to fly in between 11:00pm and 7:00am, you will find your flight prices may be significantly lower. These times are also ideal for missing traffic on the way to the airport.

- Don’t limit yourself to one airport. Just because you live near an airport doesn’t mean you have to fly from there. Look for flights from a number of airports, and you may be surprised that you may find a cheaper deal at another airport. If you find a cheaper deal at another airport, weigh up how much it would cost you to get there, and it may still be cheaper than the flight from the nearer airport.

- Book online. Travel agents take commission while booking your holiday, which means higher prices than you would find on the Internet. For travel companies, the costs of running an online booking service is cheaper than running an actually branch, with staffing and rent to consider. Online booking eliminates these costs, so you are more likely to find a cheaper flight.

-Shop around. Make sure you compare flights online from a number of different companies, and don’t limit yourself to the big travel giants. By searching through a number of companies you are more likely to come across cheap flights, and find flights that are most suited to what you require.

Yes it's best site ( http://www.cheapticket.co.uk/india.aspx Cheap Tickets to India )you can Save up to 70% on flights ticket to India from the UK It's easy to book cheap flights online or use convenient telephone service for best fare. Cheap ticket deal in flight, hotel, holidays and car rental.

One of the most expensive parts to any trip is airfare and there are
things that you can do to reduce the cost of an airline ticket. You
want to first be flexible so that you can compare prices for times
that are around when you want to leave. Also when you search for an
airplane ticket can make a big difference as well. Studies have shown
that late at night and early in the morning there can be some great
deals to be found. Most people search for tickets in the middle of the
day and the prices naturally will be higher then.
With so many discount airline ticket websites out there it can get
confusing on who to use. The best way to do this is to find three of
your favorite sites and then search on them and see what the prices
are. Also in many cases you can save money when you book directly
through the airlines site itself because they in many cases will
publish low fares there. They are saving money and they want to build
up a loyalty with there customer base as well. Never buy the first
ticket you find even if it is a great deal because in most cases there
will be other sites that are offering good deals also.
Remember that finding a discount airplane ticket is not hard to do but
you need to search early enough so you can find an affordable price.
Also looking for a deal late at night or early in the morning can
prove to be a good option for you. Ticket prices change all day long
so you may need to check prices throughout the day to find the best
deal for you.

what a great excuse to get 2 extra flights to sydney (3 flights from tokyo – sydney on jetstar would cost about the same as 1 flight from tokyo – sydney on JAL or Qantas!) Jet-a-star! lol!

The cheapest I could find was $388 with all taxes, etc…

uctwithme.com, click "book travel online"

hope this helps!

Try Priceline as they offer great deals on flights. You can choose your own airline, date and flight. You can save more with Name Your Price, last minute deals and prices are dropping inside track, check internet for details.

My suggestions: compare airlines, flight times, dates, is it cheaper to fly certain time of the day, weekends or during the week (it might make a difference leaving a few days earlier or later) and non-stop flights. Another good tip is to shop & compare Priceline’s website with the Airline’s Website.

I hope that helps and answers your question. Have a safe flight.

Check EasyJet.com, they fly from Edinburg, but you would have to stop over in another city then to Cologne. Or you can check this link for other low-cost carriers within Europe:

Jetstar is the low brand to Qantas.

holy crap that is a cheap flight. A flight to Japan on JAL or QANTAS will cost me like $5,000. :S

kayak.com, it gets your major travel site results as well as the usually-cheaper airline direct fares, all in one search.

Still, I recommend carefully looking up all available resources, including travel agents. That practice will get you the lowest possible fare for you every time!

Good luck!

Try these:

They're best for budget flights within Europe, but there are some good intercontinental flights.
