Go Online to Book an Airline Flight if You Want Cheap Flight Tickets

Air travel is still the most convenient method of getting from point A to point B in the shortest time when a great distance is involved. However, with soaring fuel prices and increased security issues since 9/11, the cost of flying has increased dramatically. The best hope of booking an airline flight and being able to buy cheap flight tickets is to shop online.

There are a wide variety of websites that specialize in helping people to find the best prices on airline flights and other travel expenses. The most common catch is that flights must be booked well in advance and schedules are subject to certain restrictions and blackout dates. If one knows in advance when travel is planned, these websites can find some very cheap flight tickets when compared with the prices of ticket purchased immediately before departure.

In the best of situations, you can learn exactly where all connecting flights will be caught and how long a layover to expect when you book an airline flight based on the availability of cheap flight tickets. One thing that is certain, you will not get a nonstop flight from your point of origin to your destination unless you are one of the luckiest people alive.

Booking air travel in advance online does have some other advantages. If you book your airline flight online and score some cheap flight tickets, you can also book your hotel reservations in advance, a fact that could save some money on accommodations as well. Many hotels offer deep discounts for booking in advance, subject to limitations, just as airlines offer. Making all of these arrangements online will often save substantial amounts of money when looking at the prices of airline tickets and hotel rooms.

If you have ever decided on the spur of the moment that you needed to travel across the country or to another country, and have priced an airline flight on short notice, you can see the obvious savings that can be achieved by booking in advance and using the internet as a means of searching for cheap airline tickets. Thus, it is always to your advantage to make your plans well in advance and handle all of your travel arrangements online rather than wait until the last minute to purchase tickets at the ticket counter.

Given the general state of the economy, the costs of fuel for planes, and the increased security following 9/11, online shopping for an airline flight can make it more likely a person will find cheap airline tickets. Planning in advance will almost assure one the very lowest fare possible depending on the date one plans travel. It also helps the airlines to schedule their flights to maximize the benefit they gain from every gallon of fuel used if flights are scheduled in advance and they know that they will have enough passengers to justify the flight.

The cheapest days to fly are Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday. And the best time to shop for your ticket is Tuesday after lunch. That's because most airline sales come out on Monday and airlines try to match those prices on Monday evening and Tuesday morning.

Most airlines will allow you to buy up to 9 tickets in any one transaction. 10 or more is considered a group and should be made by calling the airline's group reservation number as there is often a discount available.

Airlines allocate a certain number of seats on each flight to each fare level. When the number of seats they are willing to sell at that price are sold the ticket price then jumps up to the next level. In your case the magic number is four. When you try to purchase 4 seats you are getting the lower price but when you up the number to 5 it is pricing all 5 seats at the higher fare since there are only 4 left at the lower one. In this case you could buy the four seats at the lower fare first and then the additional two in another transaction or you could call the airline directly and see if they are willing to sell you all six seats at the same price. They may, however, charge you a per ticket fee for booking over the phone and they may not make an exception based on the fact that the seats will probably sell out at the higher fare anyway, but it is worth a shot.

See if Frontier Airlines has anything. They are a discount airline. Also Southwest now flies into Denver as well. Start out with those 2 airlines and see where that leads you.

Depends where you want to go to and from where.
Ryanair, Easyjet, Bmi, Virgin Airways, KLM, Air France, Iberia, Spanair, Aer Lingus are just a handful of European airlines.

First, you need to book 30 days out. Second, shop around. Look at travel websites to see who has the lowest fare, then go to that airlines website. You are hitting ski season, so you arent going to find great deals to Utah, people who ski, have money and will spend it no matter what to get to the slopes. You need to be more specific, what dates are you looking at and what cities. Cincinatti and Salt Lake City are Delta's hub's and you can get the best rates with them more than likely. However, booking from Cincinatti can be more expensive than booking a connection from say, Cleveland or Columbus for example, it just varies.

Shoot me an e-mail or IM and let me know your dates and the cities you need to fly to/from. Honestly, you aren't going to find many "cheap" deals to Utah, especially during ski season. I've helped a lot of people on here educate themself on how to find good deals and been able to help find good fares with out going to the travel websites and getting trapped.

Travel sites are traps for uneducated people like yourself, you think you are saving and getting a good deal, when infact you arent. The base fare, what you see advertised, may be slightly cheaper than what the airlines shows, BUT when you price it all out, the booking fee's add up to be more than what the airline charges. Should you choose to use these websites, READ ALL OF THE FARE RULES BEFORE PURCHASING!! Price out the travel sites and airlines websites just before getting to the part where you enter your credit card info and see what the final price is with fee's. That should dictate who you use. It takes time and research to find the best fares, not just one single website. Sign up for Travel Zoo, its a weekly e-mailer that alerts you with fare sales, as well as go to http://www.delta.com and register to be a Skymiles member and you will get e-mails every week of their fare sales.

It could mean that the fare is sold out for those dates, not the flight. Airlines deal on what is called a controlled capacity basis. This means that they will only sell a certain number of seats at a certain fare. Then the fare is sold out not the flight. The flight maybe available at a higher fare. You can always be somewhat flexible on your dates of time of departure and find availability in that fare.

Airlines also oversell most flights. Why? Statistics tell them that there is about a 10% "no-show" factor. Rather than have empty seats, they oversell their flights to compensate for this. If this happens to you and you have a confirmed reservation and arrive at the airport check-in counter within the required advance check-in time, and you are denied boarding due to an oversold flight, they will offer you Denied Boarding Compensation. This can range from money to upgrading of your class of service. The airlines have a specific number of hours to accommodate you or they are subject to compensating you for that.

Sometimes they will come on board the flight and ask for volunteers to give up their seat for a travel voucher or monetary amount. This way, they can accommodate you and the person that gives up the seat gets your denied boarding compensation.

I have clients that specialize in doing just this for the free travel vouchers and cash payments. You have to be flexible but it can work out in your favor if you are.

If you MUST be at your travel destination at a specific time, then be at the departing airport at least 90 minutes prior and you should not run into this problem, assuming you have a confirmed reservation.

If I were in your situation, I would call the airline directly and the Reservation Agent should be able to give you seat numbers.

Also remember that the airlines wait to assign some seat only upon airport check-in. Bulkhead seat and Emergency row seats often are airport check-in only. They have to determine that people seated in the Emergency rows

best bet, call Delta and ask them for seat assignments directly.

Right now you are after the fare not the seat. Once you get a confirmed ticket, then you can deal with Delta directly. Do not fret, they are not going to board the minor without you.

I would say buy the ticket and then deal with Delta directly.

I have always found cheaper fares from travel agents. I've had better luck with them than internet sites.

Good luck.

well that's always a risk to not book your tickets, if you are for sure with that price I would recommened booking it but if you want to shop around more try going to http://www.18ktravel.com .

Well I have always used sidestep.com

it is the best price because it searches every airline over the web, so it gives you the best possible price…you can also use it for hotels, cruises, and other travel fees….good luck and have fun =]
