	I travel quite often and when I look up anything from flights to hotels or even car rentals I go to http://www.kayak.com. This is a search engine that scans many different travel sites and airline sites for the best rates, and if you click on the best site it will direct you to that companies web page. Highly recommended.

Swiss Air for direct flights from JFK to Switzerland.
Very good airliner…

You can also try flying to a major city, like London ..and then fly to Switzerland on one of them cheap airliners in Europe like
EasyJet or RyanAir.
London is pretty expensive on the dollar…so also think in those terms…(any costs u may incur on that transfer)
Check the sites below and see what European cities service Bern or Geneva….then….check how much is it to get to that European city from JFK.

The best way to get cheap flights IMO is to get on the mailing lists of a few travel deal sites (www.shermanstravel.com, http://www.travelzoo.com, etc). They send out a weekly newsletter of the top 25 or so deals on the web. If your travel plans are not in the near future, you can find some very good deals. If you have more immediate plans, i suggest going on craigslist and trying to find someone with a buddy pass for an airline. I got a buddy pass for delta for about $400 that brought me from Atlanta to Buenos Aires and im pretty sure your ticket would cost about the same. Its definitely worth a shot.
