Adventure travel: Back packer trips to the off beaten track are the most interesting thing to do in once life. The only think that stops me to go on such a trip is something to do with the kind of lifestyle I currently have.
Given a choice I would really love to travel the world and get to know and experience firsthand the culture and heritage of many interesting nations. I feel this every one should do before they are gone for good. It is my wish to go to The Forbidden City in China, Kamakura (Big Buddha) in Japan, take a holy dip in Ganges (river Ganga) in India, visit the Great Pyramids of Giza, Visit Hawaii and experience hula festival, visit Washington and see Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Visit New York and know the glory of the statue of Liberty and visit Paris once and look up at the Eifel Tower, and draw inspiration for my life.
It is such a pity that many who crave for such an experience work for years save money and then ditch their jobs for their lifetime experience. I being in Travel Industry would like to help such enthusiasts to fid cheap flight tickets. Even if it means saving few hundred dollars, I would consider myself lucky to have been able to help like minded people.
Following are some tips that can help you cheap air Tickets-
1. First and foremost it is always a good idea to book your tickets in advance at least 21 days in advance. Airlines generally give out cheap tickets if you book your ticket in advance.
2. Before you book your tickets you should always try searching for fares in different travel portals, you should at least search in 5 portals. Compare the prices of different carriers.
3. When you search for flights, try searching for smaller airports near you destinations. The less the demand for the flight, the cheaper they tend to be.
4. Be flexible about your travel dates, some times a day before or day after of your chosen date may be cheaper.
5. Mondays are the most preferred day of travel, try avoiding it, the lesser the demand the cheaper the fares are.
6. If you are a student, senior Citizen, a sports person or you fall under other special categories, ask the airline if they can provide special discounts for you.
7. No one wants to travel in the middle of the night and so there is less demand for flights at odd times. If you don’t mind traveling at odd times, you may save a lot on flight tickets.
8. There is not much cost difference between Round trips and one way; so you may as well chose to book your round trip, and save on Flight Tickets.
9. When traveling inside US, try choosing nonstop flights, the more stops you will have the more tax you would be paying, so your ticket will get costlier. The case is just opposite if you are traveling abroad, two are three stop flights tend to be cheaper when traveling abroad.
10. If you are traveling abroad, try choosing national airlines of the destination country, there are generally less taxes involved on national airlines. However this may not be always true.
11. On international flights if you choose 1 or 2 stop flights and if the layover time is more than 4 hours the Flight Tickets tend to be cheaper.

OH MY GOD!!! I DID THIS!!! what do you want to know exactly??….get a "round the world" ticket…it cost me about $2000, that was 5 years ago…only thing is, it is an open ticket good for one year, meaning you have to return after one year…it was a series of about 7 flights, and you must go in one direction only, either East or West….decide before you buy….then choose where you will fly into and out of…a good thing to do is what i did….for example: Europe, I flew into Europe, then bus and railed it around Europe and ended up in Greece, that took a good 3 months…then flew to India…..stay in hostels, ALWAYS, and do research to budget how much you need….moving around costs more than staying put, but then you are not travelling if you don't move around, right??? why don't you check out my stories online geocities.com/lorina916 , and please feel free to email me if you have any other questions…I'm so happy to help…P.S. I did do 2 years, but one year out, one year home, then another year out…..it was amazing…best decision I ever made in my life….
I fly international alot. The best way to get good airfares is to check the individual airlines often, at least once a week. They often have sales for a short time, less than week, but you can get some great ticket prices if you will spend the extra time working on it. Check the links below and watch them. I fly to Japan mostly and I have never paid over $900 to fly there and that was during a peak season. By doing a little extra work, I save hundreds of dollars on my tickets. A little work can go a long way.
